It surprised everyone, with the exception of those who were “in” on scheme. The Nissan Altima “Ride of Your Life” campaign successfully demonstrated just how powerful their new vehicle was. How did they do this?

By taking a Nissan Altima, and with the help of social media and Hollywood designers, “transformed” it into what seemed like a regular race car. The participants never saw it coming, and were astonished by the realization that they were, in fact, regular vehicles! The Original Problem with the Nissan Altima

One of the original problems that Nissan had with their Altima was the public perception that surrounded it: not very fast and not a lot of power. What they didn’t know was that each Altima was equipped with both a race-like interior and exterior. In fact, it was so convincing that none of the passengers had a clue about what was happening!

Strapped into their racing harnesses, they prepared themselves for an adrenaline-filled lap around the mile-long track. And not surprisingly, the passengers were overtaken by the massive amount of power brought on by the vehicles, which just goes to show that they can be perfect for handling the streets of Deltona, FL.


Revealing the “Truth” Behind the Vehicles

After giving the participants a little time to decompress from their massive sensory overload, the campaign then started to demonstrate what it was really all about. A few race mechanics made their way onto the track and started to, what seemed like, take apart each Nissan Altima.

And it was after this that the participants were able to fully appreciate the “illusion” that they had just experienced. Each “race car” was, in fact, a regular Nissan Altima that had simply be give a sportier look prior to being raced. It just went to show just how powerful the Altima really was in comparison to similar vehicles in its class, and how effective it can be when traveling the streets of Deltona, FL.

It’s safe to say that the “Ride of Your Life” campaign successfully shifted the public perception of the Nissan Altima from a vehicle of modesty to one of power and performance.
