Interior

NASA-inspired Zero Gravity seats provide comfortable, supportive seating in the 2016 Nissan Juke. A wide variety of upholstery is available, from standard cloth and leather-appointed seats to NISMO and Recaro sport bucket seats with unique trim and stitching. Five passengers can fit in the cabin, which offers 36 inches of head room in the rear and over 39 inches up front. Seating is flexible, offering versatility, so that you can go from 10.5 cubic feet of cargo space up to 35.9 cubic feet by lowering the rear seats.

Aggressive styling features throughout the interior, matching up with the exterior appearance. Body-colored surfaces with hard plastic and silver accents curve around passengers, while leather wrapping and unique NISMO trim can be added. Heated front seats and Automatic Temperature Control are available for comfort, while the standard Nissan Intelligent Key with Push Button Ignition provide convenience for the driver. Cruise control with steering wheel-mounted controls makes tackling highways a breeze.

Technology

As befitting a modern, forward-thinking SUV, the 2016 Nissan Juke comes with quite a bit of technology standard, as well as some stand-out available features.

Performance

A wide variety of powertrains are available in the 2016 Nissan Juke. Select from front- or all-wheel drive, as well as the choice of Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) or manual transmission – the latter only available in the NISMO-tuned trims. If you are interested in fuel economy, the 188-horsepower, turbocharged 1.6-liter engine offers 28 MPG city and 32 MPG highway in front-wheel drive form and 26 MPG city and 31 MPG highway in all-wheel drive form. Opting for the NISMO tuned turbocharged 1.6-liter adds quite a bit of power, raising output to 215 horsepower with front-wheel drive and the manual transmission, or 211 horsepower with the all-wheel-drive-equipped CVT. While horsepower is slight change, torque is much greater – CVT versions have 184 lb-ft of torque, while manual versions have 210 lb-ft of torque. There is an accompanying slight drop in fuel efficiency, but NISMO models also get an upgraded front helical limited-slip differential, a NISMO-tuned exhaust system, and NISMO-tuned power steering, all in the name of nail-biting performance.

Safety

Every Juke offers a wide range of safety features, both active and passive. Vehicle Dynamic Control with Traction Control System provides for control through difficult conditions. Front-seat Active Head Restraints and the LATCH system provide safety and security for driver and passengers. In the case of an accident, the Nissan Advanced Air Bag System controls dual-stage supplemental front air bags with seat belt and occupant-classification sensors. All passengers are protected by roof-mounted curtain side-impact supplemental air bags for front and rear-outboard occupants.
