The interior of the new 2016 Nissan Frontier is both comfortable and functional. For the most part it maintains the same chiseled angles and tough truck appearance you see from the outside, but there are plenty of gadgets and goodies to keep anyone happy. In Crew Cab models there is comfortable seating for five, with King Cab models offering forward-folding seats and room for four. Bluetooth wireless, air conditioning and cruise control are standard in all but the base S King Cab model. When you move up to the more luxurious trim levels, you can expect interior features like leather-appointed seats, 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat, NissanConnect® with navigation, a 10-speaker Rockford Fosgate® audio system and more.

Performance

The 2016 Nissan Frontier offers two engine choices, and rear-wheel or 4-wheel drive. It also offers a 6-speed manual transmission or 5-speed automatic. The 2.5-liter 4-cylinder delivers great fuel economy and 152-horsepower, while the powerful 4.0-liter V6 puts out 261-horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque. It’s the V6 that gives the Frontier its 6,500 pound towing capacity and more than 1,400 pound payload capacity. When equipped with 4-wheel drive, there’s an Electronic Locking Rear Differential, Active Brake Limited Slip, and Bilstein® Off-road Performance Shocks.

Safety

Safety features for the 2016 Nissan Frontier include Nissan’s Safety Shield® passenger protection system with Advanced Air Bag System. The dual-stage supplemental air bags use seatbelt sensors and occupant classification sensors to provide the safest deployment possible when needed. It also includes roof mounted side curtain air bags to protect front and rear seat passengers. Other safety features include:
