The 2016 Nissan Altima is available with one of two engines – the 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder or the 3.5-liter V-6. The continuously variable transmission completes the drive train. The 2016 Altima puts out 270 hp and 251 lb-ft @ 4,400 rpm of torque with the V-6 option and a still-impressive 182 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque @ 4,000 rpm with the fuel sipping inline four. Speaking of fuel economy, your 2016 Altima will get 27 mpg in the city and 39 mpg on the highway with the four cylinder engine or 22 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway with the V-6 – both among the best in their class.
